Kim DeSio is a seasoned parent, dog-lover, and nature enthusiast. Through twenty-five years of successful work in corporate business development and personal life experiences, Kim found her passion in mental wellness and holistic health. In 2016, she began the transition from business consultant to therapist, and now serves as an LPC-A in Avon and surrounding towns. Genuine, optimistic, and positive are words to describe Kim’s personality and approach to therapy.

She appreciates various aspects of the six major counseling theories, but primarily draws techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy. From a humanistic view, she recognizes individuality and engages with each client from a non-judgmental position of unconditional positive regard. Kim is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) from the EMDR Institute Inc, founded by Dr. Francine Shapiro. This technique is available to those who suffer from PTSD, Anxiety, Phobias, and Depression.

At times, life can be challenging. Seeking help is a brave and important step towards well-being. Kim is committed to helping anyone who needs assistance. She is especially dedicated to working with teens, young adults, and adults who are encountering significant life-transitions.
